    The Junior Compliance Specialist will report to the Chief Compliance Officer and be responsible for supporting Federal and state regulatory compliance across the organization. 

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in the annual risk assessment process to help quantify risk associated with business processes.
    • Responsible for drafting self-assessment procedures to test for regulatory compliance, executing compliance testing, and summarizing findings.
    • Participate in drafting policy, procedure, training and be exposed to Federal and state mortgage lending rules.

    Education & Qualifications

    • Entry level – 1 year of mortgage banking/compliance experience.
    • Candidate must be enthusiastic, a self-starter, have the ability to work in a group or independently and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Familiarity with Federal and state mortgage regulations is a plus.
    • Experience drafting self-assessment or internal audit procedures is a plus.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Ability to think independently as well as collaborate in a group setting.
    • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff.
    • Audit skills would be beneficial to this role.
    • Encompass (Loan Operating System) skills a plus but not required.
